TESTIMONIALS
A number of Wellbeing Instruments’ partner schools have integrated their outdoor musical instruments into universal wellbeing strategies and also behaviour support plans with great success! We’re so grateful for the feedback we’ve received and have dedicated this space to sharing some of their success stories. We’d like to give a huge thank you to Ben Whimpey of Indimax Productions for doing an amazing job of filming our case studies.
We’re also very proud to be showcased in the Canberra Times where we highlighted the links between educational philosophies, wellbeing and disability inclusion. You can read the article here.

We had the amazing opportunity to speak with principal Jacqui Abrahams, at Diamond Creek PS. We also had some of her students show us how they use their Explorer outdoor musical instrument! Here’s a short except of Jacqui explaining how the school benefits from integrating the instrument with their tier 1 and tier 2 behaviour support strategies.
“I would absolutely recommend Wellbeing Instruments to any school. Particularly those of us implementing the three tiered approach.”

Case Study - St Andrews PS
A huge thank you to the St Andrews Primary School staff and students for so enthusiastically taking part in our case study. We investigated their motivation for investing in our EXPLORER outdoor musical instrument and looked at how the instrument, being integrated into their universal wellbeing strategies, has positively impacted student social engagement. We also had the great opportunity to hear some amazing feedback from the students themselves and also Principal Hayley Styles.

“It has been fantastic to observe the engagement of a large number of our students on the wellbeing instruments during our breaks and before school! The students always have a smile on their face while using them. Our Education Support staff regularly use the instruments to support students in regulating their emotions and when transitioning between different learning areas in the school. Thank you Tom for your fantastic ongoing support with the instruments!”
Matthew Dunstone- Assistant Principal, Panton Hill PS
“LOVE the new musical instruments. I actually thought one of the staff had their calming music on early this morning, only to realise it was some kids playing. It’s impossible for them to be out of tune! If I close my eyes I’m in a little village in the Himalayas 😊”
Kellie – CRT, Westgarth PS
“The students absolutely love getting their energy out on the instruments in the yard. Our class also use them during brain breaks and they always have a great time!”
Teaching Staff, Laurimar PS
“Both our staff and students love using our 2 instruments outside.
The sound of the music they make is so lovely and calming for everybody. They are a welcome addition to both playgrounds.
Daniel Moloney – Assistant Principal (Wellbeing and Inclusion), Jacana School for Autism
“The children loved the instrument, and it made for a wonderful addition to our playground. It was used both in general play at recess and lunch, and with specific children who needed a mindful activity to aid with regulation. Would improve any playground space.”
Keith McNeill – Principal, Abbotford PS
“Diamond Creek PS wellbeing is a massive focus for us. And as part of our multi-tiered strategies of support we purchased the instrument as both a tier one and tier two strategy. So for all of our students, they can use it in the yard anytime. Whether that’s for a brain-break during class time or whether it’s during recess and lunch time.
For some of our other students, we use it as a tier two strategy where they might be able to use the instrument during class time or during break time when they’re dysregulated and we find it really helps to calm them down. After which we can begin a restorative conversation or unpack what’s going on for that young person.
I would absolutely recommend the Wellbeing Instruments to other schools, particularly those of us who are rolling out the three-tiered approach.”
Jacqui Abrahams – Principal, Diamond Creek PS
Jo Wheeler – Principal, Westgarth PS
“The instrument is such a fantastic addition to the school. It’s a great solution that contributes positively towards our students’ sensory regulation, personal and social goals as well as their overall wellbeing.”
Tamara Pennington – Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader/ Sub School Leader, Glenroy Specialist School
“The wellbeing instruments are regularly used with a student I support when they are feeling the need to calm down or regulate during our brain breaks. They have been helpful to assist in the student’s transitions between learning spaces and specialist lessons. The student is able to play the songs they are learning in their keyboard lessons and gets confidence from sharing their knowledge. We are now starting to use the provided activities with the instruments. They have been a brilliant purchase 👏”
Education Support Staff – Panton Hill PS
“We absolutely love the sound of the instruments. It’s so nice to hear the students playing them in the yard… every recess and lunch.”
Office Staff, Laurimar PS
“The instrument has been a fantastic addition to our school. It’s used every day, particularly by students who are looking for a quieter, more regulated way to engage during break times.
We’ve noticed a real benefit in how it supports transitions back into the classroom. Students are calmer, more settled, and ready to learn. It’s also been great to see such a wide range of students using it together.
It’s a practical, well-designed resource that genuinely supports student wellbeing in a school setting.”
Brett Hayes – Principal, Sherbourne PS
