Simple to approach independently and easy to incorporate into parks, sensory gardens and shared community environments.
Inclusive Participation
The instruments are intuitive and rewarding to use without lessons or previous musical experience — children, adults, older people and people with disability can participate at their own pace.
Community Connection
Music provides a natural reason for people to pause, interact and participate together, supporting individual use, family interaction and informal shared experiences.
Intergenerational Recreation
The same activity can be enjoyed by people at different stages of life, making outdoor music suitable for neighbourhood parks, community hubs and spaces shared across generations.
Place Identity and Activation
A musical installation can become a recognisable feature within a park or precinct — another reason to explore the space, remain longer and return.
AN ADDITIONAL LAYER OF PARTICIPATION
An Activity that is Always Available
Wellbeing Instruments create a permanent outdoor activity that the whole community can approach in their own time.
They can be used independently, socially, or as part of recreation and community programs. No electricity, screens or musical experience are required, and the instruments are designed so that every combination of notes sounds harmonious.
