The Composer
The Composer the larger of the two and is tuned to a C major scale making it the perfect outdoor musical instrument to integrate into your music curriculum. Instrument Beaters
Both the Explorer and the Composer are provided with two specifically designed beaters which are secured to the instrument frames and held in customized beater holders located on each side. The beaters are secured with a stainless-steel cable which is coated with PVC for additional durability. Careful consideration has been taken regarding the design of our beaters to enhance durability and to perfect the tone and volume qualities of our outdoor musical instruments. We have also consulted Occupational Therapists to maximize the therapeutic benefits regarding tactile sensory input for the performer by creating textured handles. Polyurethane Beater Heads
Polyurethane is an extremely durable material, easily capable of withstanding the outdoor elements. While very sturdy, it’s also flexible making it the perfect choice for producing a beautifully rounded tone when striking the sound tubes on our instruments.
Textured Handles
The beater’s handles are carved from hard dense plastic, suitable for all outdoor applications. In consultation with Occupational Therapists, the ribbed design was chosen to allow the performer a tactile sensory experience while exploring the sounds of the instrument. In addition to visual and auditory sensory inputs, this feature allows the instrument to provide a third therapeutic benefit. A true standout among it’s competition.
